Malice of the Guardians… MotG for short.
It’s a card game that’s been around for a long time, but it’s still really popular to this day. They even continue to print paper cards for it.
I see… Paper media is quite rare these days. But why do you have these cards framed? Aren’t they meant to be played with?
Playing the game isn’t the only way to engage in the hobby. Some people like to collect the cards too.
I personally like to collect rare cards, like ones that don’t have many copies in circulation, or ones with special illustrations and finishes.
The more rare a card is, the more expensive it is on the market, to the point where fakes are even created of it. But all of the ones I have here are certified authentic cards.
So they all go for different prices? How much are they worth?
Well… It depends, but some of the rarest cards can go for over ten million.
?!
MotG has a very long history. Some first edition cards really do fetch prices that high.
Kamina… Don’t tell me…
I don’t have any of those, of course. I only collected these cards because I like the art on them. They’re not worth nearly that much.
…I see.
But I understand that they’re still very important to you. I’ll be careful around them.
Thank you.
Ah, actually, would you like to play a game with me while you’re here? I can teach you the rules, and I even brought a few decks you can use.
No, sorry, I have some business to attend to.
…I see. That’s a shame.
…Sojun.
Understood. I can accompany you.
Got it. Thank you. I can start by explaining the card types…
(…He looks quite happy. I certainly didn’t expect to see this side of him.)
