Teach Me! Kiroku-Sensei! (2)
…Try these…first.
Crayons… These take me back. I’ve barely even seen them since I was a kid.
I thought that they were only meant for children, but they are quite wonderful tools, now that I think about it.
Kamina-san…you’re still…only sketching in black and…white. So I think you…should…get used to using colors…
I see. Crayons do come in a large variety of colors. Even I could get the hang of them pretty easily.
Crayons are…easy to use. Just…layer them on top…
I’m surprised at how cleanly the different colors can layer on top of each other.
…And then you…can do this to…add some…nuance.
Oh, you blurred out some of the colors by rubbing at it with a tissue. That helps to make it look like it has a softer texture too.
You could also try…erasing some areas…using a ruler.
With the erased parts gone, it looks like a light is shining on it…
…It’s really fun to…try out a bunch of…different things.
It definitely looks fun. I never expected to get so excited over some crayons.
I-I’m happy to…hear that… You should…try it too…Kamina-san.
…I really want to…see how you…color things.
Can I? Well, if you insist, then sure, I’ll give it a try.
Alright, it’s done.
…!
(The colors are so bold and complex, but put down with no hesitation… I didn’t even know such a free and open-minded coloring style existed…)
You’re a…genius…
Haha, well, I’m glad to hear that you think so, but don’t you think you’re being a bit too easy on me?
No, not…at…all…! I-I think it’s…really…amazing.
…!
I’ve never told anyone this before, but truthfully, it’s a dream of mine to hold my own art exhibition one day.
…A-An exhibition!
But I’m no professional. I figured that it’s rude for a hobbyist like me to think that way.
So I’ve been trying to hold back…
But I’m really happy that you were able to recommend something that’ll make art even more fun for me.
As I learn more and more about art and how to enjoy it… I get the feeling that my dream isn’t as far off as I thought it was.
Thank you, Kiroku. I’m truly glad that I was able to talk to you about this and come to this conclusion as a result.
Ah…!
I-I’ll…root for you…! I’d really…love to see…your exhibition.
…!
I see. If I have your support, then maybe I can finally start moving forward…
I’m going to start working towards that exhibition I wanted to do. First, I need to start getting accustomed to using a variety of supplies and utilizing color.
I’d appreciate it if you could continue to be my teacher on this. Would that be okay, Kiroku?
…Y-Yes…!
